Denis Bohan

Denis M. Bohan, 54, of Cranberry Township passed away at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford on Thursday, August 2, 2007, after a six-year battle with cancer.

Born March 14, 1953, on a U.S. Military base in Germany, he was the son of the late John and Mary Bohan of Butler.

Officer Bohan served the community as a police officer in Cranberry Township for 26 years. He was also a Trustee for the Fraternal Order of Police.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Bohan [van Noppen] of Cranberry Township; his children, Alexis Bohan of New York City and Scottie Bohan of Bloomington, Indiana; his sister Karen Esper of Butler, and two brothers, Frank Bohan of Butler and John T. Bohan of Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many friends and fellow officers who supported Denis when he needed them most.

Friends and family will be received at Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Saturday evening, and from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m Sunday. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church in Cranberry Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Lodge 107 of the Fraternal Order of Police, P.O. Box FOP, Lyndora, PA, 16045-0107; or to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
