Dalton Minerd, Jr. of the North Hills, age 66, suddenly on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Born on October 20, 1958 in Pittsburgh to Dalton Dale Minerd, Sr and Dolores Minerd. Survived by his wife, Beth Minerd; sons Steven Minerd and Dale Glenn Minerd; brother Dean Minerd.
Dalton was not only an amazing husband and devoted father but also became a pillar of the public safety community through his tireless work with local volunteer fire departments. He joined the Highland Volunteer Fire Department’s Explorer Program at the age of 14 and dedicated the next 52 years of his life to helping his neighbors and friends by fighting flames and saving lives, most recently as a valued and highly respected member of the Berkeley Hills Fire Company in Ross Township.
Dalton will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dalton meant so much to his school – Peebles. Once a PES bus driver always a PES bus driver. He will be so missed – it was a honor to know him – such a good man who cared so much about kids. Dalton will always matter to Peebles.

Sending my deepest sympathy to the family of Dalton. We were fellow NA busdrivers, he was a good man.
I worked with Dalton as a bus driver. I will not forget our early meeting in the bus lot. We both had early runs and he always had a smile and kind words for me. Ever single day. Thoughts go out to you and your family.
Dave and I are school bus drivers for NA.
Even tho I was from the Marshall Middle School garage, I fondly remember our short conversations He was a dedicated bus driver and always had a smile on his face. He’ll be missed. Our condolences to you and your family.
