of Adams Twp., formerly of Cranberry Twp., on Monday, September 7, 2015; Charles was born in Pittsburgh on June 24, 1928, son of the late John J. and Bertha (Ley) Harvey; Beloved husband for 67 years of Charlotte (Rothermel); Loving father of Cathy Scheidemantle and her husband Terry of Harmony, and Ben Ley and his wife Kim of Murrysville; Proud grandfather of Timothy Scheidemantle and his wife Rhonda, Scott Scheidemantle, Tyler Ley, and Kevin Cline; Devoted great-grandfather of Emma, Grant, and Cooper Scheidemantle. Also survived by three additional grandchildren; Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Christopher Cline, and a great-grandson, Brad Scheidemantle; Friends will be received on Thursday from 1-9PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp., (724) 772-8800, where a funeral service will take place on Friday at 10:30 AM. Charles grew up in Warrendale and graduated from Mars High School. He attended Robert Morris College and worked for 10 years with the Post-Gazette in their Accounting Department. He then moved to Cranberry Twp. in 1959 and became the owner of the Oak Leaf Motel, which he operated for 50 years. Charles also had an accounting firm; Charles W. Ley Accounting and Tax Services, with his daughter Cathy for over 40 years. He was a member of the Motel and Restaurant Association, The Cranberry Elks Lodge, Syria Shriners, National Society of Accountants, PSPA, Gourgas Lodge of Perfection – Masonic 32nd Degree, and the John C. Muir Lodge #729.
