Charles Roy Schlieper Jr.

Chuck Schlieper (aka The Bass Slayer), went to The Ultimate Bug Out on November 11, 2021. He is survived by the apples of his eye, his daughters Kara Groves (Jim) and Laurie Rubinchak (Pete). Chuck was blessed and loved by his grandchildren Madison, Morgan, and Makenzie Groves, and Evan and Ava Rubinchak. Also surviving are his “tug of war” partners Karmann Ghia and Lotus.

Chuck lived his life with more grace than anyone can imagine. He was quite the foreign car enthusiast, rebuilding VWs and Triumphs. He also loved to fish. His sister Sally Schlieper and his niece Mya Schlieper will always appreciate and remember his gifts of rock music appreciation, his love of the Steelers and his sense of humor. He could make lemonade out of any lemon. He will be greatly missed!

Services will be private. If interested you may join the family at the MS Walk in Pittsburgh on April 10, 2022 – team “Chuck’s Banana Peels.” Memorial contributions can be made to https://mssociety.donordrive.com/participant/Sarah-Schlieper. Chuck would like you to remember that bananas were his favorite fruit – because they have a peel!

    Sal and Mya,
It was an honor to be able to help and get to know Chuck.
He had a delightful sense of humor and constant twinkle in his eye even on days that were not so great.
Better still he once called me a goddess for bringing his a Wendys cheeseburger. I enjoyed his fantastical stories tremendously too!
Sending you both hugs and my sympathy. Chuck has a special place in my heart.

    Love to you both,
    Susan
