MERRITT C. BRUCE
Age 91, of Pine Twp., formerly of Murrysville, on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at home. Husband of the late June S. Merritt; loving father of Craig B. (Sandra) of Pine Twp., and Margaret Ann Merritt of Richmond VA; grandfather of Christina, Gabriella, and Samantha Merritt, and Thomas and Victoria Johnson. Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Donald; and sister Eileen. Born and raised in Crafton and lived most of his married life in Murrysville, for the past 12 years residing in Pine Twp. Bruce, valedictorian of his Langley class, Westinghouse Electric scholarship recipient, studying at Carnegie Tech which was interrupted by WWII. He served in the Army Counter Intelligence Corp. in Japan. Bruce was employed by Westinghouse Electric as a chemical engineer. He had many loves besides his grandchildren, bicycling the US, folk dancing, reading, and classic movies. Family will receive Friends Sunday, 2 p.m. until time of Military Honors at 7:30 at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., 724-772-8800.
