Betty M. (Baker) Nicolette, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the age of 81. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and cherished memories.

Born in 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, Betty was the daughter of the late Harry and Marie Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack Nicolette and her sister Janet Kinnee. She was a devoted mother to her two sons Chad Nicolette (Jessica) and Jon Nicolette and an adoring grandmother of Madison. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Carol Berry and Barbara Bosworth (Roy) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing, spreading kindness and healing to countless patient’s across multiple hospitals and private duty.

A true animal lover, Betty found joy and solace in the company of her beloved pets of miniature schnauzers and cats. Her passion for animals extended beyond her home as she volunteered at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Animal Friends.

An avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Betty was a devoted hockey fan who found immense joy in cheering on her sons and watching them play. Her love for music knew no bounds, from the timeless compositions of Beethoven and Mozart to the spirited melodies
of Elton John, ABBA, and even a touch of AC/DC during exhilarating hockey games with her sons.

In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed listening to performances by her late husband Jack and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

Betty’s memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Betty Nicolette’s life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 1-5 p.m. at Devlin’s Funeral Home, Inc., 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pittsburgh Zoo, any animal shelter, or the Pittsburgh Symphony in her honor.
