Betty Geary

Betty (Elizabeth Jean) Geary, of Ross, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 25, 2011, ending a 17 year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born April 5, 1928, to the late Audrey Van Sickle and Hank Feight, in Canton, Ohio. She is survived by her children, Gabrielle (Frank) Marshall, Chris (Sue), Ali, George (Grace), Greg, Steve (Mona), Alan (Joan), John, Ted (Giselle), Eric and Josh (Lisa); grandchildren, Justin, Kelly and Kate Geary, Olivia and Gabrielle Marshall, Sarah and Teddy Geary, and Stefano and Isabella Geary; also survived by the father of her children, John K. Geary. The family, with much appreciation and many blessings, would like to thank a very special CNA, Kim, for four years of compassion and dedication to “Miss Betty”. Also thanks to all the neighbors and hospice personnel who have helped throughout this difficult journey. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Sebastian Church. In lieu of flowers, to honor Betty, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, (ADRC), 200 Lothrop St., Suite 421W, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, or to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
