Visitation: Saturday & Sunday 2-6 p.m.; Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., Ross twp.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church, Monday, 10:00 a.m. Everyone please meet at Church.

On October 11, 2022, the soul of Betty A. (Schneider) Kreutzer, 81, was called home. Betty passed while peacefully surrounded and held by her husband of 61 years, Paul, and her four children, Karen (Tim) Bradley, Lynn (Dave) Hein, Kevin (Amy) Kreutzer, and Craig (Karen) Kreutzer.
“Nana” is not only a nickname for Betty, it is an earned badge of honor and love, as family always came first. Betty is beloved and survived by ten grandchildren; Tommy, Anyaleen, Maris, Andrew, Sutton, Connor, Alex, Cameron, Brendan, and Carlie. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth Schneider, and her brother, Lou Schneider.
Betty had a long career in banking and real estate before making her passion of cooking her second profession as the cook at St. Sebastian School, where she fed and was beloved by students and faculty alike. Her loss will leave a hole in many hearts at St. Teresa and St. Sebastian churches, as her and Paul’s volunteer efforts were many and widespread, from leading the youth group and the church festivals, pre-marriage classes, Appalachia mission trips, and cooking and baking for anyone who needed food made with love. Betty and Paul shaped and touched many young and older lives over 50 years of living God’s work.

Funeral arrangements have been made at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 17th starting at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa Church. Everyone please meet at Church.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Catholic Charities or the International Essential Tremor Foundation in Betty’s name.

Betty was a rare and beautiful light. She was so caring, faithful, determined, and unselfish. Within a month of meeting her, I knew she was a Christian woman and mother and that I wanted to be more like her. I am so grateful she came into my life. Our whole family was enriched by her kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed. May eternal light shine upon her soul and may we meet again one day, Dear Friend.

To my second family growing up, My heart hurts with you in her loss, but it also rejoices as I know she has been made whole again and is in paradise with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My daughters know her, as she prayed over us before we went out…and I have carried on that lesson and have prayed over them and their friends to this very day. She taught me that and so much more and I am a better man for having known her. You are in my prayers for comfort and peace in this next chapter.

Paul and family: Time spent working with you and Betty at St. Sebastian fish fries and festivals were hard work but always lots of laughs. We were so blessed at St. Sebastian School when Betty ran the school cafeteria. Our children were fed homemade meals and Betty loved all the children like her own. She was a beautiful person with a heart of gold. You are all in our prayers. Rest in peace our dear friend Betty. Save a place for us at the banquet table with Our Lord.

I was crushed to learn of Betty’s passing – she always exemplified faith, hope, and love. She was a gift from God for so many people and I cherish my encounters with her. I will offer Mass for her here in the Diocese of Dallas. Recognizing that she was the center of the family as a devoted wife, a loving Mother, a phenomenal grandmother, I cherish the fact that I was blessed with her friendship and I rejoice that she was faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. As the Lord receives her into His loving arms of mercy, I pray that God’s consolation will fill Paul, her children and her grandchildren with peace and comfort during this difficult time. Prayers and sympathy, +EJB (Diocese of Dallas)
