As a young man, I spent many quality hours at the home of my best friend and one day eventual best man, Steve Loehlein. I vividly recall how many times I would find myself seated in their dining room, having philosophical discussions with the entire Loehlein family over current events of the day. Even though we came from much different ethnic backgrounds (Italian-German) these folks nevertheless always welcomed me into their home. I was always impressed how they had a very strong family unit with quite high values and all three of their offspring were extremely bright. Mrs. Loehlein herself was a wonderful example of a strong German woman who adapted herself quite well to life in America. She was always very proud of her family’s accomplishments as she knew they were a direct reflection of herself and her loving husband, Conrad. They had a discipline in their family that is so missing in so many American homes today. The Loehleins knew how to raise a family the right way and Mrs. Loehlein was always a person that I greatly respected for both her high standards and unbending yet loving discipline for her children. The world and her family are much better off today because of her untiring efforts. I feel blessed to have known her and I’m certain she is in God’s loving arms today! My most sincere sympathies to the Loehlein family on their significant loss.

There’s a special place in all of our hearts for our mothers, just like there’s a special place in every mother’s heart for her children. You must continue to carry her memory in that special place in your heart. I am sincerely sorry for the loss of your mother. With deepest sympathies, Colin Keller
