Age 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Wife of the late James Russell Wanner, her beloved husband of 63 years; Deeply loved by her daughters, Beth Wanner Shanda (Lawrence) and Lynn Wanner Bryan; energetic grandmother (Nana!) to Kimberly DeAngelis (Dennis), Sara Shanda Furgiuele (David), Keith Bryan (Lindsay), Danielle Bryan and Taylor Bryan; joyful great-grandmother (Neena!) to Ellianna Catalani DeAngelis, Braydon DeAngelis, Leah Furgiuele, Eva Furgiuele, and Ethan Furgiuele; sister of Harry Gozzard and the late Maxine Jones, Velma Dewall, Dolores Casciotti, Donald Gozzard and Winifred Dimitt; and close to loving niece, Casey Yeomans (Jerry), A member of Highland Country Club for 38 years. Barb loved to play golf and was a Queen Bee champion. She worked as a secretary in the billing dept of Passavant Hospital and then later as an Administrative Secretary for Swindell Dressler Engineering Firm. While there she was elected to throw out the first pitch representing the company at a Pirate game. The team fell in love with her and wanted her to stay in the dug out with them for the game! Barb’s vivacious, spirited and cheery personality was infectious to all those around her. She loved to read, but family was everything to her and brought her her greatest joy. She was the light in our world, and we will miss her smile forever. Friends received Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills, where a service will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

I know Barb from Giant Eagle pharmacy. She certainly was a delight, a firecracker, so funny and a great storyteller. We all really missed her once she moved. Now she’s with her Jimmy.

We are so sad we will be unable to celebrate Barb with the family and many loved ones. She was truly a shining light and touched all who knew her with unconditional love and a joyous spirit. We were lucky to be part of her extended family and will treasure our memories with her (and Jim!) always. Our hearts share in your grief and celebrate her life. We were blessed to know and love her!
