Antonette “Toni” Alioto Sonavec

Age 90, formerly of Shaler township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 10, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh on May 8, 1930, daughter of the late Giovanni Alioto and Rosa(Machi) Alioto. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Sonavec. Loving mother of Veronica “Roni”(Bill) Stolze and Chris Sonavec, sons-in-law Mark Gorski and Bill Neurohr. Proud Grandmother of Ed Gorski and Lisa Gorski. She is survived by her brother Vito(Mary)Alioto, Sister-in-law Anne(Delvecchio)Alioto and Betty (Sonavec)Billeter. She was preceded in death By her siblings: Joe, Mike, Nunzio, Mario, Anne(Alioto)Balestrino, Frank, Tony, Sam, RoseMarie (Alioto) Pawlawski. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Church for over 70 years. She worked as an aide on the playground and also worked in the cafeteria. Toni held her cafeteria friends close to her heart.
She also had many talents and enjoyed them all. A beautiful family person, she cooked, baked, gardened, was proficient at sewing, and her amazing artistic talents. She will be greatly missed.
There were no visitations due to COVID. A private Christian burial ceremony was arranged for December 14, 2020. We will be celebrating Antonette’s (Toni) life in the Spring/Summer.
