With great sadness, the family of Anthony William Danko, age 29, of Ross Township, announces his passing on 3/29/2024. Beloved son of Michelle Lepore Danko and Gregory Danko; Loving brother of Michael Danko. Preceded in death by Mario and Shirley Lepore (grandparents) and William “Bill” Lepore (Uncle). Anthony is also survived by many loving friends and family.
Anthony has been a pillar within the North Hills community and even beyond for many years. He graduated from North Hills High School in 2013, while being selected as a captain of the football team, being named First-Team All Conference, as well as being named to the Post Gazette’s 22 All-Stars across the city. Anthony also stood out within the classroom, graduating from Robert Morris University with honors in 2018.
Anthony was driven by three main things. His faith and devotion to God, his commitment to physical wellness, and his love of family and friends. Anthony regularly attended church services, growing as a person through his commitment to God, and he would often turn to the Bible when seeking His guidance.
Anthony’s second love was his love of fitness, which began at the age of 15 and has carried him through the second half of his life. He was diverse in his interests, excelling at everything into which he dedicated his mind and body. Anthony’s success ranged from placing third in a physique competition to completing the Tough Mudder as well as multiple half and full marathons.
Even through all of this, the thing that made Anthony special was his commitment to his family and friends. No matter the challenges he faced, he always made sure to check in on friends and loved ones. His love and dedication to others is the legacy that will remain eternal. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available.
