Age 68 of McCandless Twp. on Sat. Jan. 7, 2012, beloved husband of Mary Anne (Skocy) Helgeson, loving father of Julie Riley (Rob), Becky Davis (Michael), Jennifer Helgeson, and Matthew Leigh Helgeson (Deborah). Dear grandfather of Christopher, Mary, Andrew, and Cory. Brother of Paul Helgeson and the late Mary Linda Carlsten. Andy worked for US Steel Railroad, Westinghouse and Medrad/Bayer. He was a member of the North Hills Sports Car Club, the SCCA, the Porsche Club, American Legion Post 161 and was an avid photographer.
Visitation Thursday 2-4, 7-9 PM at T. B. Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. North Hills, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church, Friday at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.In Lieu of Flowers Donations may be made to the Rebecca Helgeson Davis Cancer Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, 8050 Peebles Rd. I am very sorry for your loss.
I had the pleasure of working with Andy at MEDRAD. He was truly a compassionate person with a great sense of humor. He was a great source of knowledge, and he provided solid advice to me when I was looking to purchase winter tires for a sports car. He even followed up with me to find out how the purchase went! He will be missed by all.
