On Sat., March 28, 2015, of McCandless, age 83, after a lingering illness, at Cranberry Place. Loving husband of Joyce Fugini for 54 years; father of Lisa (Kevin) Murphy, Tom (Paige) Fugini, Laura (Dave) Kurywchak); grandfather of Connor Murphy, Brayden and Tatum Fugini, Michael, Matthew, and Natalie Kurywchak. He is survived by his four brothers and three sisters, Lewis, Fr. Francis OFM Cap, Vincent, Franklin, Bernadette Martin, Sylvia Pennington, Rose Rumbaugh; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Robert, Carl and Gloria Sacharski. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, having taken his basic training with the 11th Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. He was a graduate of Gannon College and began his career at Erie City Iron Works, later at Westinghouse Bettis, and for 34 years as a mechanical design engineer for Pitt Des Moines. His passion was classic and antique automobiles. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church and a member of North Hills Historic Automobile Club and the Early Ford V8 Club. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and aides of UPMC Cranberry Place for their kind and compassionate care. Friends received Mon. 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY TWP., 2678 Rochester Rd., 724-772-8800.
