Albert R. Krebs

age 85, of Ross Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born on July 8, 1934, he was one of two children to the late Albert Krebs and Elizabeth (Winkler) Krebs. Beloved husband to the love of his life for 62 years Lois (Clogan) Krebs; loving father of Kathleen Krebs, Colleen Krebs (Chris), Allison Austin (John); proud grandfather “Pap” of Heather, David, Erica Otte(Kevin); great grandfather of Gianna; brother of the late Arlene (Krebs) Irlbacher (Michael). Al is also survived by a brother-in-law Richard Starinchak and 11 very special nieces and nephews. Al was a graduate of North Catholic High School in 1952 and attended Geneva College before joining the United States Army. He was employed by the Equitable Gas Company for 39 years. He was a lifetime member (over 25 years) of the Laurel Gardens Volunteer Fire Department and served as chief during his last years. He was an avid sports fan and had a special passion for golf and basketball. He passed his days working on jigsaw puzzles (always one in progress)! He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish his entire life. He coached the CYO basketball team and volunteered at the annual festival every year. Al will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and great grandfather, a special uncle, and a humble, kind, and an all-around great man. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, Inc. 806 Perry Hwy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday 10am in St. Teresa of Avila Church. Please note that face coverings will be required in church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
