Age 85, of Cranberry Twp., on Jan 28, 2017. Mr. Hrubes was born on Feb. 15, 1931, son of the late Joseph and Susan (Kasper) Hrubes. Beloved husband to the late Irene Kovach Hrubes; special uncle to Mary Jo (Harry) Shankle, Donna Marrs, Ken (Kim) Nowack, Patricia Nowack, Karen (Gene) Oswald, Ron (Mary) Nowack, and Mary (Jeff) Smith. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years and nephew, Paul Nowack. Family and friends received Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 2678 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Our cousin, Irene’s husband Al, will be missed. His kind and easy going demeanor always added to his personality and we remember their wedding and extended family through our cousins Wilma, Irene and Mary Katherine Kovach. Tom Hawkins and Janice Hawkins Walker are the surviving cousins. We remember growing up with our three cousins from the Kladler, Kovach and Nowack families. Al soon became a part of that family group and we want to offer our condolences at this time. We appreciate the close relationship that has been provided to Al and Irene by Wilma’s and Mary Katherine’s family, since Al and Irene, had no children to lean on at times like this. Thank you all.
