James “Jim” Kuszajewski
Age 84, of McCandless Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Jim was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 95. Jim was a long time member of to the Shaler VFW Post 9199.
In 1961, Jim married Barbara “Babs” Biagiarelli. Together, they raised three daughters: Celeste Taylor (Brad) of Anaheim, CA; Lynnette Kahn (Dr. Charles) of Mt. Lebanon; and LaRissa Gioia (Ralph) of Trafford.
Jim later married Elly Del Pizzo and lovingly embraced her children, Bobby Del Pizzo (Victoria) of Severn, MD, and Niki Del Pizzo of Talent, OR, as his own.
Jim found great joy in the everyday pleasures of life and, above all, in spending time with his blended family. He cherished the lifelong friendships he shared with Jim Maines, Frank “Weezer” Pietrusinski, and Ricky Spodobalski, and treasured the many outings and memories they made together. Jim enjoyed playing in his golf league, appreciated a good cigar, and, in recent years, rediscovered his love of chess.
He is survived by his sister, Nadine (the late Larry) Byrnes; grandchildren Paige, Rhett, Melody, Guy, Nicky, and Maddie; great-grandchildren Malik and Eliana; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Sally and Frank Kuszajewski; his sister, Mary Ann (John) Arble; brother, Abe (Bernadette) Kuszajewski, and cousin Bernadette (Jack) McDermott.
Jim will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the friendships he cherished, and the memories he created throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Highway, Pgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday 10AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish), 800 Avila Ct., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
