Service: Mass of Christian Burial Saturday August 16, 2025 11am at Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Regina Coeli Parish.

Edward F Darges, 85, passed away on August 8, 2025. Son of the late Frank and Anna Darges; husband of 66 years to Pat Darges; father to David Darges, Michael Darges, John (Sharon) Darges, Edward Darges, Christine (Michael) Miller, and the late Richard (Carolyn) Darges; grandfather to David, Amanda, Ryan, Brooke, Josh, Joey, Allison, Robbie, Danny, Megan, Steven; great grandfather to Grayson and Savannah; brother to the late Dorothy; and uncle to a niece and nephews.

Ed also known as “Big Guy’ or “Fast Eddie” of the job site lived a life full of love, laughter, and hard work. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Patricia, and a cherished father and grandfather.

Ed served his country with pride in the United States Army, spending time as a lineman in the beautiful wilderness of Alaska. His experiences there left a lasting impression, and he often reminisced about his adventures in the Last Frontier. He worked as a union carpenter with Davis Fetch Co for his entire career, where he was known for his skill and dedication to his craft. His family and friends will fondly remember him as the handyman who couldn’t help but improve any project he tackled, even lending his skills to help his children build onto their homes.

When he wasn’t working, Ed found joy in gardening and spending time by his pond. He had a flair for holiday decorations, always surprising everyone with something unique each year. Plus, he was a huge Steelers fan.

For the last four decades, Ed made it a tradition to host a New Year’s Day breakfast for the men in the family. Steak and eggs were always on the menu, and it was a special time for the sons, grandsons, and nephews to come together and bond.
