Milton Francis Stauber, age 85, of Cranberry Township, PA (formerly of Glenshaw, PA) was guided home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2025.
He was born on December 24, 1939, in Pittsburgh PA, son of the late Mildred (Bracken) Smith and William C. Smith, Sr. Beloved husband of 64 years to Florence Stauber; loving father of Mark (Johonna) Stauber, Jeffrey (Michelle) Stauber, Mona (Bob) Cornelia, Donna (John) Fetchet, Gregg (Sharon) Stauber, Zita (Chris) Billmann, Zoe (William) Flaherty, Michael (Miranda) Stauber.
Preceded in death by his brothers, William (Nancy), Donald (Mary Lou), and David (Judy) Smith; his sister Patricia (Edward) Dougherty; his adoptive parents George and Agnes Stauber; and their children Mary Agnes (Jack) O’Brien and James (Janice) Stauber. Survived by his sister Helen (James) Burnham of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, Eric Stauber, Ryan (Beth) Stauber, Brad Stauber, Sherri (Brandon) Cohn, Brayden Stauber, Riley Stauber, Krista (Warren) Moik, Dean Cornelia, Nicholas Cornelia, Michael Fetchet, Grant (Morgan) Fetchet, Mikayla Fetchet, Graham Stauber, Brendan Stauber, Grace Billmann, Ava Billmann, Liam Flaherty, Declan Flaherty and Mikayla Stauber as well as his 8 great grandchildren, Christian, Ryland, Benjamin and Rhys Moik, Nellie, Emelynn, Samuel and Mollie Cohn and 4 step-grandchildren, Joey, Davey (Amanda), Preston and Dylan and two step-great grandchildren, Kira and Liz Moik. Milton is survived by many loving relatives and friends.
Milton was the ultimate family man and together he and Flo, created a warm and nurturing home full of love and laughter. He enjoyed being outside whether it was riding a bike, walking or just taking in the weather with his lovely bride on the porch. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and being their biggest supporter. He was a simple man that wanted simple things: love, respect and Christ in his life. His three simple passions in life were faith, family and food. He is best known for the wisdom and guidance he shared. Always grounded by his deep love for family and faith. He had many nicknames from the family and friends – Sonny, Bagger, Milt, Dad, Pappy.
He graduated from North Catholic High School in 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA and attended St. Vincent College and had a love for football and played as quarterback while in high school and college.
He spent his career with Asbestos Worker’s Local No. 2. Dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree Knight. For several years, he prayed the living Rosary at St. Ferdinand’s Church. Over the years he prayed the Novena and attended prayer meetings at St. Bonaventure Church and Mt. Alvernia. He was a lector at St. Bonaventure and St. Ferdinand’s Church for many years and was involved in their Parish Festivals. Milt and Flo made countless rosaries over the years for St. Ferdinand and beyond.
Praying the Rosary was very important to him, especially in his final weeks. He was joined in prayer by his wife and all eight of his children and several of his grandchildren too. In his final days he enjoyed the best food of his life (thank you Ava) and giving final advice and giving a warm embrace to his newest grandchild Mikayla, born with his red hair and joy for life.
The family would like to thank the nurses, aide and staff with Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care that they provided Milt in his last few weeks.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 and Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA. He will be laid to rest at Holy Savior Cemetery, 4629 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia, PA. The interment will be held privately with family.
