Barbara Moore Foster

Barbara Moore Foster, 85, of Cranberry Township passed away on April 6, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Janet R. Moore of Hollidaysburg, PA; wife of 64 years to Stanley L. Foster; mother to Gwendolyn Foster, Hilary Foster and Jessica Foster Cerino (A. Christopher); grandmother to Josephine Cerino and A. Samuel Cerino; sister to Robert E. Moore (Cynthia) and the late Richard L. Moore, Jr. (Darlene), and aunt to their children. Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, enthusiasm and attention to detail in all of her endeavors. Born on August 13, 1939, in Altoona, PA, Barbara grew up in Hollidaysburg and graduated from Penn State In 1961, where she was President of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and a member of Mortar Board. She and Stanley were college sweethearts and married shortly after her graduation. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and outstanding homemaker, Barbara had varied interests and generously volunteered her time. Having lived in Singapore in the 1970’s, she was an avid world traveler and interested in other cultures. Barbara played the piano and clarinet and enjoyed attending symphonic concerts. She read widely, participated in book clubs and the Ellwood City Garden club. Together with her husband Stanley, she was on the Board of Together for Retarded Youth (TRY) of Wexford, PA. They were also long-time members of Ingomar United Methodist Church in Ingomar, PA. Barbara was interested in US and Scottish history and genealogy, and was a long-time active member of the Fort Pitt Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, an all-female organization which owns, operates, protects and preserves the Fort Pitt Block House.
