Age 85, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Scranton, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Husband of the late Ann (Rafter); Loving father of John J. (Kathi) of Florida, Michael (Carol) of Emsworth, and Joseph P. (Janet) of Ross; Proud grandfather of Joseph, Sean, Rachel, Michael Carey, Michael Raymond, Cory, Christopher, and Jordan; Brother-in-law of Joan Phillips of Scranton, and the late Marjorie Brown and Grace Butler (Survived by Bill Butler); Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday in St. John Neumann Church, Pittsburgh at 10AM. John proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, after his honorable discharge he began his long career as an accountant for U.S. Steel. John was a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Neumann Church and former member of St. Teresa of Avila. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.
