Donald Bartlett Smith, 44, of Franklin Park, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was the beloved son of William Claney and Nancy Smith; brother of Mark, Douglas, David, Timothy, James and William; and uncle to Sarah and Sophia. Donald was a graduate of North Allegheny High School and Carnegie Mellon University. He held a Master of Philosophy degree from Duquesne University and graduated from Duquesne University School of Law. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and practiced law throughout western Pennsylvania, with a specialty in property law. His interests included bow hunting, fishing, running and his pet fox. The greatest of his passions was kayaking, which took him to rivers all over the eastern United States, Colorado and Ecuador. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross Township. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley. Refreshments will follow the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Donald’s name to the Thomas Fire Department, Thomas, WV and Tucker County Search and Rescue.
