Vanessa D. (Haskins) Baumgardner
December 11, 1955 - August 22, 2026
Vanessa D. (Haskins) Baumgardner, 70, of Denbo PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of August 22, 2026 after a brief stay at Cranberry Place. Born on December 11, 1955, she is the daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice (Patterson) Huey; the beloved wife of the late Dave Baumgardner, Sr., with whom she shared 4 step children. Vanessa is also preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd Haskins, her son, Zachary Haskins, and a brother-in-law, Rick Hartley.
Vanessa loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, dancing, singing, crocheting, cooking and music. She was an amazing cook & music was the window to her soul. She loved every type of music from the 50’s to current day. From Oldies, to Motown to Country. In her later years after being diagnosed with dementia, in her final chapter she found comfort in her music. Despite the heavy toll that the illness took on her memory and abilities, she could remember every word to the songs.
Vanessa kept her sense of humor, often times being called “spicy”, until the time she had to leave us. Left to cherish her memory are, her sons Barry Huey, Blake (Stephanie) Haskins, her daughter Twila (Beau) DeThomas, her stepson David Baumgardner, Jr. & her grandchildren, Skylar, Beau Jr, Roman, Riley, Reese, Renee, Derrick, April, Barry Jr, Brody, her sister Kim Hartley(Larry), nephew James, step daughters Alana & Taylor and numerous great grandchildren.
Special thanks are extended to David Baumgardner, Jr for his care that made it possible for Vanessa to stay in her own home for as long as she did, the wonderful staff at Cranberry Place, especially Roxanne, Tom, Tanea, Leighanne, Esther, and Jess and the compassionate loving staff of Heartland Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held on September 26, 2026 at George C. Marshall Amvets Post 103
Located at 123 Buttermilk Lane, Hopwood PA from 1:30-4:30PM. The family requests that everyone wear a shade of Vanessa’s favorite color, blue.

To Mama Haskins who i grew up next to at 1249 California Terrace back in the 6th grade listening to Zach play the Trumpet while Blake played the drums and the middle school crush I had on Twila, Mama Haskins was always a wonderful Lady my love and deepest sympathies to her family!
