U.S. Veteran

US Army Explosive Ordnance Tech, age 39, formerly from Ohio Township, on August 15, 2012 was killed in action in Afghanistan. Husband of Terri L.; loving father of Misha D. age 7; son of Carol S. and David L. Holman (Jan); grandson of Marjorie DeCoursey (the late Joseph) and Katherine Holman (the late J. David); brother of Lisa M. Long (Kerry), Kevin L. Holman (Ashley) and step-brother of Laura Zeno, nephew of Kathy O’Donovan (Jim), Patricia Westfall (Marty), Kim Graff (Jim), Barb Westerman (the late Jerry) and Kathy Crisanti (Sal), uncle of Jeremy, Robyne, Dean, Jadelyn and Audrey. Friends received Saturday and Sunday 2-4, 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp., (724) 772-8800. He will be laid to rest Monday Aug. 27, 2012 at 2:00PM at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Eric was a graduate of Avonworth High School class of 1990 and Penn State University class of 1995. Eric was a former member of the Elite US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team performing at various Stadiums and Air Shows throughout the United States. Eric followed his passion of patriotism when he left the Golden Knights and entered EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposition) training. He was deployed in January 2012 to Afghanistan with the 767th EOD Battalion from Fort Bragg, North Carolina when he lost his life. Eric touched many in his 39 years and will be deeply missed and loved forever by all. The Army Golden Knights will perform a Memorial Service at Grove City Airport in October 2012.
